We're looking for a talented Fit Technician to join our team and play a key role in shaping the perfect fit for Hooke's apparel. In this hands-on role, you'll conduct fit sessions with a diverse range of models, meticulously evaluating garment drape, movement, and comfort. Your attention to detail will be crucial in identifying areas for improvement and collaborating with designers to translate their vision into reality.

Task and responsibilities
From concept to creation, you'll be the fit expert!
You'll work hand-in-hand with the design team throughout the entire product development cycle, ensuring our seasonal styles achieve the perfect blend of look and fit.
Here's what you'll do:
- Bring designs to life: Play a key role from the development phase to the production phase; examine PROTOS, SMS, and PPS samples.
- Review samples: Measure and review all fit samples meticulously before fittings. Your keen eye will ensure the samples match our exact requirements.
- Analyze fits: Lead fit sessions, analyze samples, and suggest fit, construction, or materials improvements.
- Build a fit foundation: Create and maintain a library of pattern blocks to streamline approvals and ensure consistent fit across styles.
- Collaborate with suppliers: Work directly with factories to develop and refine garment samples based on our specifications.
- Solve problems: Identify and address any fit, construction, or fabric issues that arise during the development process.
- Keep a customer focus: Keep our target customer and brand fit standards in mind throughout all stages of development.
- Communicate clearly with the team: Provide detailed feedback on samples. Clearly explain fit and construction requirements to suppliers, anticipating potential production challenges and collaborating to find solutions.
- Ensure quality control: Ensure suppliers implement fit corrections and maintain high production standards that meet Hooke’s expectations.
- Keep a record: Maintain a comprehensive history of each style's development, ensuring all quality, fit, and technical specifications are met.
- Optimize process: Streamline the sample approval process by managing timelines and prioritizing organization.
Competencies required
-
2+ years experience as a Fit Technician, Patternmaker, or equivalent;
• Educational background in Fashion Design;
• Knowledge of garment construction;
• Experience with fitting procedures and fitting corrections;
• Bilingual (French/English) with strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Meticulous and detail-oriented;
• Ability to communicate in a clear and concise way, verbal and written;
• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment;
• Strong time management skills, highly organized, and able to effectively prioritize workload.
• Experience with the Office Suite (Excel)
• Knowledge of Illustrator and the Adobe Suite
