When Fishing and Recycling Go Hand-in-Hand

When Fishing and Recycling Go Hand-in-Hand

A Project Larger Than Life

Earlier in December, Fred had the opportunity to give a talk to students at École alternative des Quatre-Saisons to discuss his entrepreneurial journey. He was overwhelmed by the passion, enthusiasm and motivation of the young people with whom he had the chance to exchange. Thus, it came quite naturally that we accepted the proposal of their teacher, Gino Dickie, to embark on their Eco Pêche entrepreneurial project.

Eco Pêche

Eco Pêche was born in the spring 2021 following a school fishing trip on the Jacques-Cartier river by a dozen students. After some discussion, they observed different challenges: access to equipment, fishing permits and sometimes difficult fishing techniques. After an initial positive experience in the outdoors, this passion for fishing transformed itself. In 2022, they had the idea to share the joys of fishing with as many people as possible.

To do so, they made it their mission to collect as many rods and various fishing equipment as possible to offer to students in schools in the Capitale-Nationale. Once collected, everything will be restored to give it a second life. These restorations will be done in collaboration with the Shop, a manual workspace available in the same school.

Hooké's involvement

It is at this moment that Hooké comes into play to lend a hand to the Shop. Following a very interesting discussion between Hooké's marketing team and two Eco Pêche students, the tasks were divided, and a plan was drawn up. Hooké's mission is to provide tools and oversee the deployment of communications for the collection of fishing rods and other equipment, while the young entrepreneurs will be in charge of the repairs and distribution once the equipment is received.
