Reserve Saint-Maurice, Mauricie

With the arrival of spring, we took a few days to fish for lake trout and brookies at the Saint-Maurice Wildlife Reserve. We fished lakes and rivers and caught a bunch of nice fish from the shore. A great season opener and our first adventure aboard the Hooké Van!

A lookback at our first trip to saint-maurice reserve

In 2013 we discovered the Saint-Maurice Wildlife Reserve and fell in love with this new unique spot. While we initially targeted brookies, we were up for a great surprise as we managed to catch some decent lakers from the shore. Good times and great fly fishing vibes in the wild.

a fly fishing adventure in mauricie

Even if it’s good throughout the entire season, Mauricie is our go-to destination when spring arrives and the atlantic salmons aren’t in the rivers yet. When the lakes have just melt, brookies and lakers are near the shore, and they are hungry. From fishing casually in front of your camp to running a 3 hours canoe portage up to a remote lake, you have a wide array of possibilities for adventure on this territory.
