Stepdad - Exploring
derek’s biggest salmon
Once Quebec’s Atlantic salmon fishing season was over, Jeff and Derek headed East and reached the Miramichi and Cains rivers; cold crisp mornings, fallen leaves on the ground, the smell of campfires on the shore of the pools, and the fish of a lifetime for Derek!
A Fly Fishing Adventure on the Cains and Miramichi rivers
The Cains River is one of the main tributaries of the Miramichi River. It stretches through 113 kilometres of dense forests and cedar bushes before emptying in the Southwest Miramichi River. At fall, the Cains’ impressive sea-run Brook trout population is joined by a load of big salmons when heavy rains rise the water level of the river.
